There’s always a sense of excitement in the shop when a new piece of hi-fi history arrives. This week, that buzz came courtesy of the Accuphase E-3000 Integrated Amp — a component that immediately reminds you why this brand sits in such rarefied air.

A Legacy of Quiet Confidence

Accuphase has always carried an aura of calm authority. Founded back in 1972 by a group of engineers who turned their backs on the mass-production race, their vision was refreshingly pure: build audio equipment of uncompromising quality, designed to stand the test of time.

My First Accuphase Encounter

Mid 1974 was the first time I sat down to listen to the Accuphase E202 amplifier and that memory has stayed with me. I was just 15 years old.

I had been around Hi-Fi and Stereo sound for my entire life. Somehow though this was different. I always preferred and enjoyed music best when it was played loud, but this was the first time that the music grabbed my attention at a lower volume.

I remember the music just sounded right.

The E-3000 Today

The new E-3000 embodies everything Accuphase has stood for across the decades. From the precision of its circuitry to the immaculate finish of its casework, it’s an instrument of both engineering and artistry.

My intention was to sit for a quick listen after work on Tuesday this week, but I soon found myself skipping from one track to another and after 2 hours found my way pretty much through my whole demo Playlist.

The music flowed with an effortless depth and natural balance, like a conversation with an old friend.
