Roon refreshes the Nucleus Range

We are huge fans of Roon here at Frank Prowse Hi-Fi, so much so the staff use it as their main music platform/control/management system in their own homes. The Roon Nucleus and Nucleus+ take simplicity to an unrivalled level, offering those less concerned with tweaking and more concerned with music playback a quick and bullet-proof gateway to their music.

Roon have just “refreshed” the two models for 2019. Importantly, pricing and internals remain EXACTLY the same. The changes however come in the form factor, country of manufacture and a couple of subtle changes overall.

The chassis is now wider, deeper and shallower – basically it looks like a heavy weight was left on top of the box for a few weeks! Internally, the change is in the SSD drive options the units supports – 15mm drives are now supported instead of just 9mm. Finally, there is a second HDMI port at the rear.

And as it is a volatile topic of discussion recently, the new packaging is much more environmentally friendly.
