A First for Us… and a First for Australia
March 5, 2026Some days in this business can feel quite ordinary.
Other days, something truly exceptional arrives through the front door that has you reaching for the box cutter just a little faster than usual.
Especially when that delivery is the sort of product that redefines your expectations of what streamed music can sound like.
Back in December last year, we had the privilege of hosting the official Australian release of the remarkable Innuos Nazaré music server and streamer from Portuguese company Innuos. From the moment it was announced, the international audio community began buzzing with excitement about what this extraordinary new digital source was capable of delivering.
And after spending time with the Nazaré ourselves, it quickly became clear why.
A Wave of Performance
The name “Nazaré” is not accidental. Nazaré is a coastal town in Portugal famous for producing some of the largest ocean waves on the planet, attracting surfers from around the world who are brave enough to ride them.
It’s a fitting name for this music server, because the scale of performance it can deliver to a high-quality audio system is equally impressive.
Streaming music has come a long way over the past decade, but every now and then a component arrives that raises the bar in a very meaningful way. The Nazaré is one of those components.
It presents music with a remarkable sense of realism, space, and emotional engagement. Subtle textures and details within familiar recordings suddenly become more apparent, while the overall musical presentation feels natural, effortless, and wonderfully immersive.
It’s the sort of experience that encourages you to rediscover the music you already know and love.
Praise from the International Audio Community
The Nazaré has not gone unnoticed among reviewers either.
Jason Victor Serinus of Stereophile magazine shared his thoughts after spending time with the unit, writing:
“Ignore the subhead: I never returned to shore. The more I listened, the more I decided the Nazaré would not return to Portugal. As with the dCS Varèse digital music system and a host of other components I now use as references, the Nazaré sounded so good and revealed so much more significant information that I knew I had to continue riding its waves.”
High praise indeed from one of the industry’s most respected reviewers.
The First Installation in Australia
While it was a privilege to host the Australian launch of the Nazaré for our Perth audio community back in December, we are absolutely thrilled to now share another milestone.
We have recently supplied and installed the first Innuos Nazaré in Australia into one of our valued client’s systems.
Moments like this are always special. Being able to introduce equipment of this calibre into a client’s listening room and witness the excitement it brings is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
For music lovers who are seeking the most natural and engaging performance possible from streamed music, the Nazaré represents something truly exceptional.
A Special Thank You
A sincere note of thanks must also go to Cameron Keating from Maxmedia for his support in helping make the Nazaré available for demonstration and supply within a timeframe that suited our client.
Collaborations like this make it possible for us to continue bringing remarkable audio experiences to the Perth hi-fi community.
Happy Listening.
Cheers, Dave.
